School Homecoming: A high school, college, or university game, dance or other event to which alumni are invited
History of Homecoming: The 1911 Kansas vs. Missouri football game is one of several claimed to be the first college football homecoming game. The tradition of Homecoming has it origin in alumni football game held at colleges and universities since the 19th century.
Why do we celebrate homecoming in school?
Many high school celebrate homecoming because of a football game or other sports. Homecoming includes cheer for the team and music from the school band
Events: They usually consist of football game played on school home football field, activities for students and alumni, a parade featuring the school marching band and sports teams. Many schools have homecoming queen and king.
Homecoming Games: They call it this because it has become an annual tradition in the United States. People, towns, high schools and colleges come together in late September or early October to welcome back alumni and former residents.
Homecoming Etiquette: Most homecoming are semi-formal although each school will specify its own dress code.
