Duties and Responsibilities: Their task is to perform surgery on the brain, spinal cord, and peripheral nerves to remove tumors, relieve chronic pain and treat wounds, vascular disorders and disease. They primarily perform complex surgeries.


Salary: $589,500


Education: Their training requires about 6-7 years neurosurgical residency following 4 years of medical school.

  • Must be licensed by American Board of Neurologic Surgery


Demands or Need for this Profession:
  • Complete 4 years of undergraduate school
  • 4 years in medical school
  • 6-7 years in neurosurgical residency training



Reflection: I would like to be one. It seems interesting to open up bodys to help them. I can save a life if someone is in pain or need.
