Columbus Day is on Monday, October 10. Columbus Day is a national holiday in many countries in the Americas and elsewhere which celebrates the anniversary of Christopher Columbus arrival in the Americas on October 12. 1492. It was a unofficially celebrated in a number of cities and states as early as the 18th century but didn't become a federal holiday until the 1937. It is the first European to sail America. He is sometime portrayed as the New World. It marks Christopher Columbus first voyage to America. He landed on the island of Guanahani in the Bahamas on October 12 1492.
