Veterans Day

Veterans Day
What is Veterans Day?
Veterans Day is a public holiday on the end of World War 1 to honor US veterans and victims of all wars. It replaced Armistice Day in 1954.
When is it?
November 11
What is the purpose of veterans Day?
The day of the anniversary of the signing of the armistice which ended in World War 1 hostilities between the Allied nations and Germany in 1918. A celebration to honor America's veterans. Veterans are thanked for their services to the United States on Veterans Day.
Why is it important to show honor on Veterans Day?
Servicemen and women who serve in wars often undergo great sacrifices. Some are killed in action and some are badly injured. Those who leave have to make a sacrifice not to see their family in months and holidays as well. We should them a thank you for all they did.
List several ways how we honor Veterans Day
  • Parties at home
  • At school
  • At work
  • An event in the community
  • Teach
